I only had 12 make it to lock down (started with 14)
I got another zipping and almost out and the other 3 are piped and thinking about zipping!!! YAY!

all right on to my question, I thought the theory was to set more eggs and expect a lower hatch rate. this hatch is almost a 100% I'll get back to ya on the 4 that are left. what the heck? well one thing, if all 12 of them hatch my new chicken count will be 14~10 month olds, 13~3week olds and 12~ days olds. notice anything? 14,13,12..

OMWord that = 39 chickens

last night...

this morning...

how many do you count? i think there are 12.. (also trying to figure out how many of each i have out... in the bator i had golden laced cochins, b/b/s slikies, ameraucanas, araucanas, and 1 phoenix, + a couple silkie/ameraucana silkie/welsummer mutts but none of those have hatched yet... i'm wondering whether our egg shells are too thick)

you'll also see that it's been having a bit of trouble holding at 99 since the little ones have started popping out... last time it was spiking... this time it keeps dropping... i even keep 3 towels on it for insulation (keeping one hole uncovered)

I woke up this morning to 2 chicks. YAY!!! Finally, 1 out of a green egg! And I was thinking another green had pipped before I went to bed....have to check that in a minute.

And another in a brown egg is zipped (can see it in the pic)......just waiting now.
Nothing on the white eggs yet, or the other greens.

Here is the 3rd hatching.

I cant seem to find the other green that I thought pipped lastnight. But since going in there last time, another green egg had pipped, and on the wrong end again! (I could swear there were 4 green eggs in there, but Im only seeing 3 now. what??)

Anyway, fingers crossed this green egg is out before we leave. STILL nothing with the white eggs, and all of those were moving at last candling (4/27).

Great pics everyone...Congrats on all the new babies!

My little Sammie is still being a great nurturing mom, and all 7 babies are thriving.

They're still so tiny even though they're almost a week old. I'm just not used to Bantam (or at least 1/2 Bantam) babies...so tiny and so cute! Here's an updated pic...the babies love to use Mom as a jungle-gym...and she sits "tall" watching her babies running around her:
