SET EGGS JUNE 23 ANYONE WITH ME?

Do any of you have Jersey Giant Eggs in the bator right now? It is so hard to see through the shell. My son checks with me and swears he sees movement. I see a very dark shape that looks like an upside down "U". I have 4 and they all look the same. I can see the air sac. They are due to hatch on the 11th. Does this seem normal for that kind of chicken since they are large anyway? Of course, the Bantams are due to hatch the same day and I can clearly see through their shells. They are doing summersaults in their. Very lively and active to be such a little egg.

I have 16 BO/RIR eggs in the incubator and another 8 under a broody hen. They are due in 11 days. There are also 9 chicken eggs under my turkey, due in 10 days. This was suppose to be IT for the summer until MAYBE late fall. But now two of my BO mix hens have gone broody and maybe my lone Rouen duck. Like my turkey, the duck has no mate. I've a friend who I can get duck eggs from but not sure I want so many broody birds!! Not leaving any room the the layers!!

I set 8 Auburn Heritage Turkey eggs this morning!

That sounds wonderful!! I need to look them up to see what they look like. I've a Burbon Red hen, a Bronze 2mo old baby, Burbon Red male 2mo old baby and a Blue Slate 2mo old baby. Unbelievable how good they fly at 2mo! Keep finding them sitting on top of the 6' fence!

I ordered some of mine and ended up with 3 duck eggs. Not sure what they are. Person advertised that he had Call and Black Cayuga. Looking at pics and comparing the eggs it looks like Call eggs. I've set them in with the chickens and wish for the best.

Not familiar w/Call Ducks. My husband really likes the Cayuga ducks. We had a drake, but he was pretty rough on the chickens. He didn't like sharing water rights! Unfortunately the fox got him.

Just candled the 16 (not 18) eggs in the incubator. 2 had blood rings, the other 14 has good veins & I could see the dark spot that is the chick.

The other 8 eggs from the 2 dozen I started with, are under a broody hen. I don't want to disturb her.

Hello hello....Day 9 .Candled toniteWHOoHoo!.Havent been as excited as last time so the 9 days went quickly but now i have butterflys.since i see 3 eggs of 7 i am sure look good so far..I am not going to get really excited until day18 as last time i was excited day 9 then day 18 things werent lookiing too good and i had zero hatch
I might candle again in a few days so i dont get too dissapointed day18 or could let myself stay excited..too.Fingers crossed.

Forgot to say for the first hatchers...Tonite my good brown egg s had about 2/3 dark area and then in it a almost black spot about maybe as big as apencil eraser maybe.
Also to compare your candled eggs go to the Learning Centrr onBYC and on Hattching eggs is a chart with pics of what they should look like each day

Could not sleep so I checked on my babies "eggs in incubator".
I have 16 eggs from my Dominique rooster and 2 barred rock hens.
We had 8 that we could see movement in,
5 that we could not tell I added 6 after original set date of 6/23
And 3 possibly not fertile. We have one hen that layer 3 eggs that were odd shaped
And kind of bigger than the others.
I think we are doing pretty good. My dd's 9&10 and even ds 16 were exited with me.

Well we dodged a huge bullet on Friday. A big storm with 80-90 mile an hour winds pasted over us in the mountains and reorganized and 1 million people have been without power since Friday in the Wash DC area. They are saying power won't be restored completely until this Friday! We had rain, lightening and a little windy. Our power went off and on 2 times but stayed on

. I have my 25 Brahma eggs still going thank the big Guy above. Will be candling tonight to see what I have.
