Set eggs today Saturday 2/22 - anyone else?

I candled everyone last night because while I had the bator open to add a little water I did one...then two...and before I knew it I was looking in all of them. My blue eggs are getting really hard to see into. I can pretty much just see a little of the veins and that's it anymore. A couple of the eggs are noticeably smaller than the others and I'm concerned the babies in there will run out of room before hatch day. My brown eggs are really easy to see into and it is super fun watching the babies bop around in there. So far everyone looks good. I removed 4 eggs. 2 infertiles from the farmer's market, one quitter from the farmer's market, and one early quitter from my amerecauna eggs. So if everyone hatched I would have 15 true ameracaunas and 9 mystery chicks, possibly barnyard mutts.

It's day 13 and I have 9 D'uccle eggs that are developing well. I threw out the 1 Welsummer and 4 Olive Eggers because they weren't fertile. I guess my rooster either isn't doing his job or he's not fertile. At least my D'uccle roo is getting his job done right. Here's a picture of one of my eggs from last night. Won't be able to see anything but air cell and blackness very soon.

I am still looking for a large box like a refrigerator box or something. I would think your lockdown would be tuesday night if I read your post correctly.

Thanks to my obsession with Amazon, I have several large boxes. What do people line them with? I was thinking paper towels/newspaper until they can handle shavings...?

I've lost several more eggs over the last week (early quitters mostly), but one egg was strange. I went in to turn them yesterday morning and the shell was oozing. It was a marans egg that I had not been able to see into, so I assumed it was on its way to explosion and removed it. When I opened it the chick looked on target for development (so I was pretty heartbroken), but showed no signs of life and also there was no sign of veins? Maybe it had died and they veins had already broken down?

I'm freaking out just a little. We had a family emergency late last night and they called the family in so we loaded up last night and drove to another state. It didn't dawn on me that I have 3 bators going because I had other things on my mind. Sitting here in the family lounge of the hospital, I realized my quail are suppose to be hatching tomorrow. Obviously, those quail are not the top priority but it still weighs on my mind. I'm hoping to get a hold of somebody this evening to go to my house and check the progress. I don't need a house sitter, I need a bator sitter.
