Set eggs today Saturday 2/22 - anyone else?

I run my humidity between 40 and 45%. At day 18 I attempt to get it up to 60%, but since I live in a really dry area I had difficulty keeping it that high during lockdown on my first hatch. I am going to try and keep these same numbers this time since I am still new at this.

And how did your first hatch go?
I have 3 eggs in lock down right now that are 3 day over due seems to be the way my eggs go it is my 3rd attempt. First hatch was 0 out of about 15, 2nd hatch was 3 out of 28, and this hatch is yet to see I am not having very good luck I have 35 eggs going into lock down on thursday they all look good so far and have had the majority of there setting at a higher temperature. I found that my original thermometers were reading at about 4-6 degrees higher then they actually were so we will see I imagine it will still be a delayed hatch but time will tell it looks like we are all relatively new to hatching.

I hope you get a good hatch this weekend.
I figured out my temperature problem was only the temp in my house fluctuating. I live in middle Tennessee. The weather here is weird this time of year. This week we've been in the 60's and 70's, and next week it's supposed to get really cold again. We have been having to use the heat at night and a/c in the afternoons. Often when the house gets comfortable we just turn the unit off and don't turn it on unless the house gets hot or cold. I also set the bator up in a room that normally stays closed off. I've opened the room, and now I just check the temp on the house thermostat every time I check the bator.
Also, I use a digital Thermo/hygrometer combo from Accurite. It's the only one I've ever used and never got bad readings on the temp. I do think it rounds by 2 degrees though, as I've never seen on 98 or 101, but often on 97 and 102. As long as it stays close to 99 I don't worry about it. The hygrometer reads 3% low after doing a salt test, so I add the extra percentage to whatever it says.
I'm still not using water in the bowl though. I wet a sponge then wring it out and put it in there when I open the bator to turn each time.

I had 5 shipped eggs and 2 of those hatched. I had 16 of my backyard mix and 15 of those hatched. So 17 out of 21. I had two that shrinkwrapped and I did help them and they are just as healthy as the rest now.

Are your eggs shipped or local?

I set 6 Saxony Duck eggs on Tuesday (18/2). They were shipped but I'm still hopeful for a good hatch. I candled them last night and it looked like 5 out of 6 were developing. Is it normal for shipped eggs to develop as normal and then in the end not hatch due to damaged air sacs or will they just not develop fro the start if there are problems? Cant wait for them to hatch!!

Sometimes damaged shipped eggs will still form but have trouble due to the air cell being in the wrong place. Most of the time though, in my experience, they never get going right. I've hatched a good amount of shipped eggs, and usually once they are forming they do OK.
Good luck to you.

Wow I want a cabinet incubator so I can do that many at a time but right now I am limited to 42 although I have three bators so can almost do 42 per week when my 4th incubator arrives I will be doing 42 per week.

After candle 48 eggs 7 not fertile, we moved 41 off turner tonight to hatch tomorrow night

I was reading the beginning and was like "Wow! You can tell what's good and not on day 3?" Nevermind. LOL!

My temp is holding at 102 and the humidity is at 60% right now. I added way too much water in the beginning and have not found a good way to remove the water. I normally keep it at 40-45% until lock down. I keep my incubator in my tiny bedroom closet with the door closed. No vents in there, so the temp does not fluctuate. I don't wash my eating or hatching eggs. If they're too dirty I don't eat or set them. I did have my OEGB mix hatch 2 of her 4 almost completely poo encrusted eggs last year.
