Draggora, I set all Turken mixes today! The eggs that I set today are all from my chickens, so I'm really really hoping I have good luck!

Don't you just love the Turkens? I think they are the neatest chickens!!!

I left the corporate world after 25+ years to stay home with my kids. I never dreamed I'd get "addicted" to chickens!
But I love the "girls". I've only had chickens for 6 months -- 13 hens. And I'm sorry, but we could never (kill/eat) our chickens...
not that I don't enjoy eating chicken... just couldn't kill a "pet"!

I've never had a rooster, and we live in a suburban neighborhood. The homes are spread out and the hens don't bother our neighbors, but
I'm concerned about hatching some little roos! What do you all do if you hatch too many roos? How noisy are they? and could
they all get along in one coop? What is the possibility of rehoming them?

I guess hoping for 17 hens is a little crazy............

I set 20+ eggs from my dutch and faverolle bantams at 3 pm today. I have a couple broodies that will get the good eggs before they hatch. Also set a couple eggs from my tri-colored mutt bantams(my avatar).

Should be an interesting April Fool's day.

Can I join? I just set my eggs at 5:35 am today. It's 3-12, but I work nights and set them when I got home, so technically it's still my Thurday, because I haven't gone to bed yet.

I set 32 silkie lav and PI splits. The first box I ordered got lost in the mail, so the seller shipped another one and BOTH came yesterday. I don't know about the first box, since they were lost in the mail for 11 days, and it was REALLY cold here last week, but you never know...
