You should be seeing something today... it starts with a small pip that isn't very noticeable. You have to look very carefully to see it. And you might see some rolling around of the eggs, or even hear a tiny peep. But development is based on temperature. If your incubator ran on the cool side, it could take a little longer to develop so it could possibly be an extra day. Good luck and keep us posted!

this is my 2nd hatch, but dont remember a lot about what happened last spring like how many days exactly or stuff like that. i love my incubator the temp and humidity have been nearly perfect but i've still not seen any signs of movement recently, but when i candled before lockdown 30 out of 31 were live and moving so i guess i'll just sit here and stare at them lol

I'm day 21 today and nothing....not a pip, movement or sound. I am thinking if anything is going to happen it might be late.

I feel so badly for my single chick from my hatch a week ago Friday- She/he still doesn't have any buddies....I even stopped at my local TSC because I was thinking of adding 2 chicks to her brooder just for company because these eggs haven't hatched.

The lady gave me attitude & told me that I couldn't under no certain terms buy less than 6 chicks! I even explained my situation- and was told it was a "state law".....

And they were adorable little white and off white silkies too! I don't know what else to do for her! She is totally miserable & keeps me up at night with her peeping...

Glad everyone is having hatching luck.

Jenn, don't feel bad! Yesterday was my 21st day, and I had no signs of anything in there. Today I had one pip in the morning, and just had another a few minutes ago. I hear some chirping in there too. This is my first hatch, so I'm really nervous, and they sure are taking their sweet time. It's making me really agitated! I don't think I've been this wound up since I was overdue with my last child...

Good luck!

We have 3 babies!!!! They must have hatched last night. Three Barred X EE. They were all under our broody hen this morning.

I was so excited that I really did not want to go to work.

came out to these this morning (we gave our broody 4 to sit on), what a cute surprise!!
A broody was the way to go, no crazy temp spikes, don't know what the humidity was, totalyy the stress-free way to hatch (once she decided she was going to stay on the right nest).
it's like that commercial "you set it and forget it"

Hi Princess, perhaps you could post something on BYC and find someone in your area that would sell you 2 chicks to keep your lone baby company! This has been a wonderfully helpful site...
