Congratulations on your good hatch! I can't wait until mine start. Tonight at midnight is the start of day 15 for me so one last candling and then I need to figure out how I am going to set them up to hatch. Then Wednesday at midnight I can put them into lock down and sit on my hands for 3 days lol. I have all Delawares in my incubator. Hoping I get a bunch of girls so I can set them up in a coop to hatch out roos to eat next year.

THanks ! I hope yours goes well ! It's so exciting.
This is the most I have ever hatched in one go.

I am absolutely awful at lockdown. I do candle every day

I would love delaware eggs, but can't find any.
This lot will be our laying flock except the chocolates which I plan to breed. Lol

I'm very new to this, but I had a hard time seeing into my WS - the way I could tell they weren't growing on day 14 was b/c the "blob" didn't get any bigger. By Day 14 the eggs were the same as they had been when I got them - so I knew there was no growth. As long as you're seeing a large dark blob and hardly any clear & there's no odor - I'd say they're still on track.

I'm in LOCKDOWN - waiting for the temps and humidity to get back up and praying that the eggs have chicks developing as I couldn't candle them today. No one smells at this point - so the last 4 eggs went into the torn up egg cartons for hatching. 2 AC, 1 WP and 1 EE - praying they all develop into healthy hens

Woke up this morning and my homemade water wiggler had leaked all out. Luckily it was on the bottom of the incubator, and we got it sponged up. Temps never fell below 99, but there was alot of condensation on the glass, to the point that it was dripping back down. I think we should be okay though

Lockdown will be this afternoon, fuzzy butts soon! Good Luck everybody!

I'm afraid mine are not going to hatch. The blob hasn't gotten any bigger on any of them

good luck to the rest of you.

I'm not sure what to think of this hatch - I put them in the paper egg carton this a.m. for lockdown and later noticed the humidity up at 80% and the paper carton was soaked. So I quickly pulled them out of the cups and put them down on their sides on the grate. The humidity is back down to 71%. But I noticed that the eggs had strange red splotches on the outside of them. I figured I must have drowned or killed them somehow and they bled out - but then as I was watching them one of the AC eggs rocked - so just maybe one will survive. Oh well - time will tell

Praying for the rest of you to have good hatches. I'll try again in September after the heat has subsided - planning on maybe getting EE and BOs next time.

Sorry about the dark welsummers - they may still be okay - it's hard to see in them. I'd leave them alone until Day 23 to see if they hatch as long as none are stinkers. I had a "weird" Day 18 Leghorn last time and today it's chirping around in my brooder. So you just can't tell sometimes.
