If she spends 3 nights in the nest, she can probably be trusted. Just let her have the golf balls and if she stays 3 nights, let her have some eggs.

I just turned my little eggs again. I get so nervous doing it. How do so many folks do this by hand? I'm so afraid of breaking the little eggs! Getting to feel the warmth of them for a few seconds is nice though.

Good luck with your broody. I hope she does a good job for youmade up my mind. I moved my broody in. giving her a few days if she stays broody I'll put some eggs under her and check on her at least a few times a day to make sure that her eggs are being kept well. That way she can hatch a few of them.I love watching a hen with her babies.
I got her specifically for the broodiness. Might as well use her.
I don't clean mine unless they are real muddy or something like that. Good luck!So I just got my eggs(21) YAY! But I noticed a few of them are slightly soiled with just a few streaks. Are those eggs going to be ok? Should I clean them, wipe them, rinse them, or disinfect them before I set them in the morn?
Thanks, I hope she does too. I'm really nervous about letting a broody hatch eggs. But even her first try she probably knows more about hatching eggs then I do. LOLGood luck with your broody. I hope she does a good job for you.![]()
