Setting eggs 4/27! Who's with me!!!

Hello everyone I am originally from Wyoming, I now live in North Carolina, I think it is funny that if there is even a mention of snow flurries here everything shuts down and all the milk and bread is gone from the stores, I haven't figured out the bread and milk thing yet! I have RIR setting on eggs now due on the 7 th of may, a silkie hen that started setting on her eggs may 3rd and I just put 8 pilgrim goose eggs in the incubator today, this is my fist time trying to hatch goose eggs, I just love the pilgrim geese I hope they due well, I hatched around 2 dozen mallard ducks last year, someday I would like to visit Alaska and the UK and australia, I prefer cold weather, I like hot weather as well without the humidity, any suggestions would be very appreciated on the goose hatch, it's been interesting reading everyone's posts here

What not Texas???

Yep, bread and milk goes quick. Not sure why either, I guess I can see the bread, but milk? If the electricity goes out the last thing you want is spoiled milk! Wow you have a lot going on. Sorry can't help with the geese, I have only hatched chickens. I really want some ducks and quail.

Wow you have quite a lot going on

I have kept geese but never hatched them but there is a post in stickies by Pete55 that explains it all

you know what they say its harder to cool down then it is to warm up

o prefer the cold as I can put on extra layers to warm up

but in the warm once all the layers are off

I am late on this bc I just joined the site today, but I started nine RIR eggs in the incubator on the 28th. I am obsessed with them and have to make myself leave them alone. I did candle all of them on day four and saw the veins in all nine. I looked at three today and comparing to pics on the Internet they are looking good. Your set up looks so nice! We are new to hatching chicks so we just borrowed an incubator. It's just the styrofoam kind where you have to hand turn the eggs (which makes it harder not to constantly candle since I have to handle them three times a day already anyway). How are your eggs coming along?

Rachels sorry I have been to Texas, maybe it was the wrong time of the year, but when I got out of the car the area I was at everything was covered with millions of Japanese beetles omg they were everywhere, my chickens would love it there:)

My hen started being broody on Tuesday (April 30th), so they should be hatching between May 20th and the 25th most likely. Its my first hatching ever so hopefully everything goes well. I really don't know much about any of this so it should be interesting. She is sitting on ten eggs right now and I am going to candle them at seven days (this Tuesday) and I might post pics!
