setting eggs 5/10.

Pheonix, don't move them if it worries you. That's my vote. Plus I am trying out my still air little giant and have had temperature swings all over the place! I am NOT a fan!

So of the 22 eggs that we started off with at home, we are down to only 6 that I am hopeful about. We put 3 of those 6 under our broody and went into lockdown with the others inside. Temp is 99 and humidity is 58. I sure hope the eggs at my son's school are doing better than these! I'm going to drive him into school tomorrow and take a peek in the incubator. They set on the 9th, so it's quite possible that there will be some fuzzy butts there already! -heck, I can dream, right?

I hope you all had a magnificent Memorial Day, and akashia! No fair talking about chicks and not posting pics! Pics.... Please?

Lock down my 15 Ameraucana eggs is scheduled for Weds nite.....I am so excited/nervous this is my first hatch. I am using a LG still air and dry incubation method.

I have 5 or 6 that look like they will not go. When should I remove them? I don't want any exploding eggs :) But since the shells are blue I am reluctant to rely on my candling skills alone to call them infertile or quitters. If they don't hatch should I open them up to see what they look like in there?

These eggs were shipped to me from Kansas(?) so I guess if I get any chicks I should be happy...

Can't wait to grow my flock!!

MT, very exciting! I don't trust myself so much on the candling either. I gave every egg a deep whiff tonight while candling, if it didn't smell and wasn't an obvious quitter, it stayed.

Out of 88 eggs I'm down to 42. Here is what's left:
2/8 of my own mixed banties
6/8 Silkies
2/3 Ameracunas
0/1 Partridge Rock
0/1 Blue Cochin (LF)
6/12 Lemon Cuckoo Orps
10/16 BYM
0/2 Coronation Sussex
1/4 Assorted Orps
6/12 Lavender Orps
0/3 Rosies (BYCer project bird)
0/3 BYM (came with the Rosies)
5/7 Call Ducks
1/2 Assorted Runner Ducks
2/2 Saxony Ducks
1/2 Black East Indie Ducks

The majority of the losses were ones that were scrambled in the mail. I eggtopsied all of the losses. A couple were infertile. A couple were early quitters. And a couple were full of bacteria growth.

The only ones I'm a bit upset about are the 2 orders that I got either NO viable eggs from or only a couple from a large order. These were the scrambled orders. I will probably contact the seller on these & see if they will replace or refund at least part of the order.

Anyway, 1 of my Banty eggs went in lockdown Saturday & is due tomorrow. 6 Silkies & 2 Ameracunas go in lockdown this afternoon. 6 Lemon Cuckoo Orps go Thursday, & the rest go the 4th, 5th & 11th with my last hatch scheduled for the 14th. Then I have more eggs shipping to start all over again.

My husband says he saw my Cat egg Move last night!!!! Now I keep going in a staring at it through the bator glass! I can't wait to see my chickies!!

Worse than watching grass grow!! LOL I keep peeking in at them . I thought I heard something earlier when I was in there, but nothing yet.

Nursie, I know!! And how about when you swear you saw one rock, but then look and look and think, naaah - I must have imagined it.

Nsamp: that is quite a group you've got going!

I can't wait to see everyone's pics!
