Setting eggs on 3/7. Anyone else?

For those of you using an Accurite:  Don't trust that it's Accurate or Right!  I think that's what I used, and it was 1.5 degrees off from a medical thermometer.  So I used a medical thermometer as my standard, and did the math to decide what the actual 100 degrees was, and adjusted accordingly.
Did you use a mercury or digital medical thermometer? I was trying to figure out a way to use my digital to confirm temps. I made a wiggler, but it was an epic failure. I tried a shot glass of water that was in there for hours and it only read 94.3° Suggestions?

Well, the incubator is warming up. Planning to put the eggs in tomorrow evening!

Awww! Wish I had read this sooner! I set mine today. I'm a first timer! I have 7 Buff Chantecler, 12 White Chantecler, 12 Silver Laced Wyandotte, 16 Gold Laced Wyandotte in the incubator.

I do have one question maybe someone can answer as I can't seem to find an answer....do I turn them on the first day?? I'm obsessively checking the temperature. Literally. It's going to be a long 21 days!!!!! And with everything I've searched and read, that's the only answer I don't have so far!!

You can still join us. I started the tread and jumped the gun by putting the eggs in this evening. To answer your question, yes you want to turn today. Happy hatching!

I was going to get some brown and white leghorn eggs Saturday to add to the incubator, but the lady I got my eggs from gave me 6 extras, so there isn't enough room. No complaints here.

Glad to have you! You have a nice big capacity. I had 18 set originally which pretty much filled the incubator, but i snuck in a brown leghorn egg today from my new hen.

I bought 100 Georgia Giant quail eggs. Shipped from several states away, only had one broken. They had definitely seen some action, they way they were moved around. Just candled them on day six, and still have eighty in the bator showing development. Temps running around 99.5 with 60 percent humidity, three thermometers, and two hygrometers. Lol
