Setting my eggs tonight (April 10) Any tips?

I'm wanting to hatch another round of eggs after these five.... Have a rooster and 7 hens, but they are VERY agressive towards him.... any tips on how I can get the hens calmed down enough to let the rooster fertilize a few eggs for me?

Lol... Maybe I will put them in a dark room or something... This can be a science fair experiment.

Great idea---
Separate the hen & rooster from the flock, and reintroduce them to eachother in a separate room away from the other birds... therefore disturbing the flock pecking order and making them more willing to change.... I hope.

What about putting him with just a couple hens that are low in the pecking order. Maybe that'll build his confidence.

Just an update.... I was checking my incubator earlier ( we lost power briefly last night) and I saw one of my silkie eggs rocking in the turner. I guess I'll be taking them out of the turner tonight, instead of waiting until tomorrow morning. This is the part I hate, the hatch part. I get antsy.

Well... I put my two lowest-ranking hens in with my new rooster.
He seems to be taking an interest in them- following them everywhere, ect. But the hens are completely ignoring him.

Is this a good thing?
