I added you Nicole! There are a bunch of us that this is our first hatch.AIIIIIIIIEEEEE!! I am so excited!!
I am incubating for the first time, and am thrilled there is a hatchalong on here so I can take my anxieties out on you instead of my newly set eggs!
Here is what I am doing:
I bought a used hovabator genesis 1588. Set it on Wednesday and the thing went straight to temp and has not strayed. I went out to the coop the past three days and collected the following:
2 ea black americuana hen and birchen Cochin bantam roo eggs
2 ea silver laced Easter egger hen with birchen Cochin bantam roo
2 ea black silkie hen with paint silkie roo eggs
1 black bantam Cochin with birchen bantam Cochin too egg
I made myself up some log books and have done lots of research, but research doesn't replace experience so I am a little nervous. I set the eggs Thursday at noon. I am really anxious to see my first candling but don't really know what to look for so I am trying to hold out until day 7 so they will be more defined.
I am hand turning them (an auto egg turner is what I asked my husband for our anniversary present haha) and recording EVERYTHING.
Good luck everyone. I am very excited to learn from everyone's experiences!!
