Setting the week of August 22 (or so... ) Everyone join!! You know you want to!

I don't know, did you see any movement? I have one that looks like that but worse- I was going to post it in a bit - I didn't see any movement so I'm putting it in lockdown but I don't have a lot of hope - it had lost 20% of its original weight too.
ya it does have movement, if i look at it long enough I can see little pushes on the aircell

I hope not but I don't know. One of my two looked a lot like that before lockdown. Hopefully one of the experienced ones can help us. Did you dry incubate? I don't know what normal looks like at day 17/18 after dry incubation so I thought it was due to that...? Online I found lots of day 7,14,18 diagrams but they were for 50% humidity. My air sacs were big & weird shaped but they were shipped eggs too & most were detached and floating around.
I used a still air incubator and I kept the humidity like 40 to 50 % most of the time so im not sure what it is. I had two eggs look like this last hatch and they didnt make it so thats why im wondering this time if it has anything to do with it or not

I feel so proud right now ! Another chick is peeping in its egg !! Hopefully when I wake up I'll see my 1st chicken ever ! Tis going strong, loud chirping ! Day 21 starts at midnight

Ok. Now please DO NOT OPEN THE BATOR! you could get them to shrink wrap so even if they peep doesn't mean it will hatch IF its shrink wrapped.

So, my wee little lone bantam egg has started to chirp and tap, tap, tap. How long should I let this go on without helping? It has been about 10-12 hours.

Also, for those of you with chicks in the brooder, watch them to make sure they have no "problems". I had a chick two hatches ago that had a mental problem. It would roll onto it's back like clumsy chicks do, but it wouldn't struggle to get back up. It would just lay there and wait for momma to come and flip him over. Well I had watched a 40 minute show and when I went to check on them the chick had flipped over and it's head had ended up in the water dish. The chick drowned. I was devastated and felt like a horrible mother. So my advice is to check them and make sure nobody has a brain problem.

nooo, he drowned in the waterdish

, did you have marbles in there so they won't drown? Everyone needs to be sure to keep marbles in the water dish, b/c I hear about this happening alot, we already have ours washed & ready

I now have 1 little chick, he hatched about 1:00 yesterday. The other 2 eggs are larger Dominique eggs, and they are doing nothing. No movement, no chips, no nothing. I set them on 8-23-12. I so hope I don't end up with 1 chick....

AHHHHH guess what!!

hehe...out of my 23 eggs, almost all of them (7 bannys, 8 australorps, 7 mixes, 1 BJG) about 95% of them are WIGGLIN like crazy right now, They've been in there 18 days this morning I think b/c we set them Aug 25th at 9am, so I was removing the turners earlier & laid them all back in there on their sides & right when the humidity started going back up, (been having it at 44-50% all time), its up to 62% now which is pretty good I think for me. One lil mixed banny egg even had a teensy crack in it when i picked it up to remove the turners, & I thought I was the one that accidentally cracked it, but then daddy looked at it & it was a "crack from the inside way" not like a crack i'd make!!!

And I heard some of them peep! I thought I was hearing things at 1st but then I heard it again LOL, WOOT! I'm so excited now that I can't sleep; even though I'm exhausted. I've only slept like 5 hrs in the past like almost 2 days so I seriously needa sleep,

I'm gonna give my shift over to my crippled dad lol, I told him and my brother to keep watch over it today for me
