I am in Lockdown as of this morning!  11 silkie eggs from Garry Farms! 6 white, 2 black, 3 buff.   I put them big side up into egg cartons, air cells look great - saw movement in all of them at day 16!  Some of the eggs were rolling a bit last night!  Humidity is at 60% .  

 
Read this last night - thought the egg/carrot recipe for babies was interesting - I may try that!  I don't usually have pasty butt problems with my wee ones, but it is nice to be ready, and some of the other suggestions looked good!  This is my first time having Silkies, so I have been reading like crazy!

I have overnight guests coming, so am cleaning like crazy - which is great timing to keep me from obsessing at the bator  :/ !

Lock down is my favorite time..

3 cuckoo Marans
1 Black maran
6 Orpintons


It should be a good hatch!! The only ones I am worried about are the silkies..they look so tiny in those eggs

My humidity is 60% and temps are 100.

Thanks for the link for silki care..I feed my chicks Fermented Feed...no pasty butt ever. But this is my first silky hatch..

4 bottles of red, 1 bottle of white. Depends on my mood...but I actually like my red cold (horrors!!!). Trader Joe's is my place for wine! 2 glasses a week would be a big week for me! Haha! But with company coming....and serving a lobster dinner....(My husband is a commercial fisherman - so they are fresh caught) - gotta have a nice bottle of wine! For us, that means spending more than $3.99

Girls, sounds like happy hour on BYC...LOL! Count me in! I like red or white. My hubby spends 9.00.....for 2 bottles at the grocery store! It actually taste pretty good too

BTW, my hubby is a captain on a tugboat and loves to fish.

Thanks Melinda! I'm trying not to bator watch too much....can't wait for that first pip!!! I had to add a wet sponge to bring up my humidity. It was down below 60% for some reason.

Hey! Another Ocean wife! Very cool! We are on opposite sides of the country - but we can do our virtual "cheers"... somewhere over Texas I guess! Well, hubby just called - on his way home from a 2 day lobster trip - so better chill that wine...and get dinner started, and take a peek in the bator of course!
