Setting up the bator and setting shipped eggs this week....anyone else wanna join?

I started with 9 eggs. I have chucked out one blood ring - I did open it just to see and there was nothing but an ooey gooey mess. I have three questionables, but am going into lockdown with all of them seeing as how it's my first time and questionable is questionable after all! Positive thinking here:)

I am following the hpbaa.com incubation humidity guideline of 38-48% days 1-18
Increasing to 50-52% day 19
Day 20 55-58%
Day 21 60-62%. That being said, I'm trusting that my hygrometer is accurate and that I'm actually able to get humidity within that range for the last days.:D right now I'm doing just fine, but I have a wide range to play within!

Good luck everyone.

Day 18 - LOCKDOWN!! I'm so excited!!! Good luck to everyone and keep us posted of what's happening. I will be on PIP watch

All babies bouncing about chasing my fingers in the brooder even the little weak one. I had its legs hobbled last night and it seemed to stenghten it some. also I have been giving it some vitamin water off and on. The ones in the brooder are eating and drinking on their own now. I showed them how yesterday. They really learned fast. The pure bred chicks seem to be a bit weaker at first but they will catch up. I have noticed this before with the wheaten AM.
Tomorrow is D day for so many of you, I know you are soooo excited. I always am. It is so hard to wait. Good luck.

Lock down is my favorite time..

I have 8 Catdance silkies
4 true Ameracauna's
3 cuckoo Marans
1 Black maran
6 Orpintons

It should be a good hatch!! The only ones I am worried about are the silkies..they look so tiny in those eggs

My humidity is 60% and temps are 100.

My eggs went into lockdown this morning. I candled each one and 5 were definitely clear/yellowish inside. A 6th one was kinda dark on one side with a big air cell...iffy but I put it in lockdown! It would be horrible to toss a live chick in there! The rest were all nice and dark throughout. So that's 36 eggs into lockdown.

Humidity is around 60% and temp right at 100. I may add a damp sponge to raise my humidity tomorrow depending if it varies.

Here we go.....can't wait!!!

I am in Lockdown as of this morning! 11 silkie eggs from Garry Farms! 6 white, 2 black, 3 buff. I put them big side up into egg cartons, air cells look great - saw movement in all of them at day 16! Some of the eggs were rolling a bit last night! Humidity is at 60% .

Read this last night - thought the egg/carrot recipe for babies was interesting - I may try that! I don't usually have pasty butt problems with my wee ones, but it is nice to be ready, and some of the other suggestions looked good! This is my first time having Silkies, so I have been reading like crazy!

I have overnight guests coming, so am cleaning like crazy - which is great timing to keep me from obsessing at the bator

Good luck everyone!

Fingers and toes are crossed in accordance with federal regulations. Check!
Valium positioned handily on night stand, check!
Feeling sudden flu-like symptoms (call work to warn them), check!
That covers everything:D
Good luck, Justine, we're rootin' for ya!
