Setting up the bator and setting shipped eggs this week....anyone else wanna join?

Good morning! Final count is 26 hatched. I don't think any more will pip but leaving them in til tomorrow just incase there is a late hatcher.

Breakdown...started with 41 eggs, 35 went to lockdown...6 eggs were clear on Day 18, then 26 hatched successfully, 1 pipped but died in the shell, 1 zipped and died from navel egg yolk sac rupture. Small amount of the yolk sac had not been absorbed.

Can't wait to hear everyone else's final results! Be sure to share lots of pics

Guess what I did yesterday, Yep, I ordered some hatching eggs! Soooo I will soon be starting all over again. One question. Should I continue this thread or start a new one hum??

Only one silkie out..only one more piped..my temps keep dropping..and humidity is way up.this is taking a long time..my temps must have been lower than registered. I bet I do not have more until later tomorrow...We got hit with a good foot of snow. That has a lot to do with humidity spikes too.
Hoping more of those silkies appeared for you last night!!!

You said you would order some and you did....you're a hatch-a-holic...LOL! You can keep using this thread if you want. Others are and I will be following everyone's hatch. I only hatch one time a year but I could be persuaded

Good morning - well, we lost power this mornin at 5 an it just came back on about half hour ago. I really have no expectations at this point as my temps were very variable with me trying to keep them hot enough. Kind of like a roller coaster. Have not given up entirely, just not overly optimistic. Waaaaah. I will regroup and definitely must have a back up power source. Lesson learned.
Glad you're getting some action mimills! Here's to many flluffy babies!

I have an adapter for my car that plugs into the lighter and has a outlet. Can't be too expensive so if worse comes to worse I can start my car and plug the incubator in....spent $62 on my last batch of eggs so the price of gas till power comes on would be worth it!
Heres the link of one similar that will give you price: http://www.amazon.com/BESTEK-inverter-adapter-notebook-MRI1511U/dp/B003ODVN88/ref=pd_cp_cps_1

Hahaha! I asked my husband last night if I could order more silkie eggs! I am on cuteness overload!!! Had one sleep in the trim of my bathrobe for over an hour last night! I keep reminding myself that these little one will be great broodys later in the year and I should wait..... but ohhhh it is so hard not to order more eggs!!

So my only little slw chick that hatched yesterday morning is standing with it's eyes half closed. It seems weak and i can't get it to drink on its own. I'm getting some electrolyte water in it with a dropper. I have seen it peck at some chick starter. Last night it was running around fine with it's eyes fully open. Any suggestions guys....
