@SnapdragonQ, I can imagine what a long arm quilting machine looks like, but could you post a picture for me? How long is the arm?

@Sally PB I know you asked on the baking thread, but figured I'd put them over here instead. I'm sure the theme is obvious, like my avatar top...LOL!

These are just a few quick thumbnails of a couple pieces. Some were still damp and tossed over the longarm frame. The bigger ones are 54 x 66 and the small ones are fat quarters. All dyes. There are t-shirts too, but I primarily do fabrics, not shirts.

I see this term a lot. What does it mean? Obviously, I'm not a quilter...

She's big. Throat space is 20 inches, overall she's 3 1/2' x 2' x 18 inches.
The frame is 4' deep and 12 1/2' wide. She's 65lb all by herself. (very bottom pic)

I could have gotten a bigger machine, but I have really short arms, so any more than what she has I would not be able to use unless she was computerized....simply because I can't reach that far!
She was not my first longarm though. I started with a smaller one and learned quickly what I wanted and needed in a professional longarm.

Looks similar to this set up (this brand is nearly identical to mine, but the overall set picture is better)

1 yard piece cut into 4 equal sections. Like 4 squares together for one large square.

Instead of a long skinny quarter yard...9" x WOF (width of fabric [42" ish]) The Fat quarter is 18" x 21" and for sewing is usually much more usable than the long skinny quarter.
You can find FQs folded in little squares and on display at Walmart and various shops and don;t need the clerk to cut them. Very handy.

Being a mechanic i'd be interested what - SMCO - depicts on the treadle , but the CO is a given i suspect .

Mother had a singer and the feed sacks were as valuable to her as the feed . But more important that old machine was valuable to me for some entertainment when i was 7 or 8 years old . i knew how to take the belt off and see how fast i could make that big wheel turn . Everything was going hi speed and smooth until i got my thumb under the treadle to pinch the heck out of it between the treadle and floor .
