Sorry that does not work with silkies, only with specific crossbreeds between a fast feathering and slow feathering breed. Many threads about here on BYC.

Where did you order the DNA test from?

I use IQBird gentetics. There are several, you can look on line. About a 7-10 day turn around time in my experience. I have done both feathers and eggshells. Results depend on how carefully you take the sample. With my birds they have had 100% accuracy so far.

Without DNA test there is no way of knowing before 16-18wks
