I have 3 beautiful 12 week old Anconas. Other than one is a LOUD quacker, they are all the same size and none have curled tail feathers. Since they have black markings on their beaks and feet due to breed traits I am assuming that the same rules that applied to my Campbell's dont apply here?

At twelve weeks drakes will not have developed their curly tail feathers. Those develop around 16 weeks (4 months). But you should be able to voice sex at their age. Females quack loudly and males make sort of rasping noises that is much quieter than the hens. Could you get some better pics of their faces, that would help me determine gender. Right now I think I see at least one hen. Beautiful ducks!

Oh. I’m not a duck person....yet

Our Ancona drakes just started sprouting their drake feathers at 12 weeks and they are completely in at a few days past 13 weeks. The females will have a loud quack, and the males will have a sound rather like laryngitis or a door that needs oil when they make any noise. I could tell ours by their voices long before the drake feathers showed up. Good Luck! It sounds like you have at least one female, for sure.

***Out of our five Anconas that we hatched, we have 3 drakes and 2 females.

Hmm..... my two Ancona drakes are twelve weeks and have not even started developing their curly tail feathers.

Ours showed at 12 weeks, just barely … you have to really inspect the area. What looks like a feather or two just barely pointing up or crooked from the rest grew right into big curls over the next several days. It was exciting to watch them progress.
