Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.


I've been off and on vegetarian since my teens and have always been told to mix legumes with unrefined cereals for proteins and algae with citrus for iron.
I find this very strange. I have learned not to eat just cereals but the combination of beans and cereals for usable proteins. Or a in a combination with seeds or milk products.
And (green) veggies , or fromage blanc with vitamin C products for iron.

P.s. % percentage of proteins in dry beans is about 21,5% .

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. A meal with both cereals and legumes, beans are legumes. Or am I lost in translation again ?

Sorry everyone. I was just really, really hungry when you all started talking about food. I have now eaten some couscous chickpea concoction and can stop telling everyone what I like to eat. Couscous and chickpeas probably counts too - but just to be sure I also had an egg.
