I am down to just one Campine ~ which will not do @ all! And Aracaunas. I am reluctant to try Japs as they are prone to deformities but D'Uccles may also be an option. Personality wise the D'Uccles have been a real surprise. They are real characters!

Such a shame. For some unknown reason I think you would do well with them.

If I ever move...maybe. I know where I can get my hands on Phoenix ~ such wonderful tails! I dunno, Shad. I'd like to try but just @ the moment my life's too much of a mess & doesn't look like being sorted any time soon. Until the hens I've nearly always had male animals & it would be interesting to put some of what I've learned from you into practice & see how we go. I'm considering splitting the tribe & running the bantams separately & letting my more feral lot rip.

Yep. The bantams are people oriented but the Campines are feral. IF, & it's a big IF @ present, I ever get my own place I'm hoping to be more rural with @ least a 1/4 acre block which would give me the space to have a completely different sort of a set up.

I know nothing about how one goes about getting housed where you are but I find it pretty incredible that you're having such problems. It's not like they're short of space.
