I am going to use this phrase. I love it. It sums up how I feel sometimes about certain people.

Family... ah, the people who should love you the most, for who you are, as you are...

But sometimes they don't. And some of them DO NOT deserve it, period, full stop. I cheered and jumped up and down when I heard one of my cousins had passed away.

But the petty $#!+... had my share of that too. There are times you have to step away, let those people be, not get into the fight.

I'm sorry about Spoko. We have mourned deeply every time we've lost a dog. And yet, hubby and I will always get another, because they add so much to our lives while they are with us.

If I could pick family members, they'd be dogs. And chickens. Which is what I have, a wonderful dog, and quirky, beautiful, interesting chickens.

It seems you are judging the choice someone has made. Do you really know all the ins and outs? Maybe she has a good reason not wanting to go there.

I wonder why its a no go to stop visiting relatives you can’t share ideas with?
Sometimes I have a hard time to tolerate everything some family members say and do. I believe its better to avoid and not to join sometimes to be able to stay friendly.

True
I have heard both sides and believe it was a misunderstanding. My Grandma died and my aunt told me it was a small family only funeral. She said she told cousin the same. I went.
Cousin said that she was told not to come up, 6hr drive, since it was a small family funeral. Cousin was 80 + years old. Cousin's mother and ex husband of grandma were siblings. So I think this is why she thought she wasn't invited.
I did make the mistake of trying to smooth it out. I stopped when I was not getting anywhere...before they hated me too 😂

Not yet. Henry will bowl Dig off a hen if he catches him trying to mate one. Apart from that and a bit of who eats first discipline it's working out so far. Dig isn't old enough to take on Henry yet. If Henry doesn't make Digs life too difficult we are in with a shout.
