Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.

I would be inclined not to stroke a hen that crouched for me.
None have in the past but that I'm sure is because there have always been cockerels and roosters. The field hens haven't so far but I could invisage it happening. They are starting to listen to me and that may not be a good thing.:p
Mine crouch for me, especially in a attempt to trip me up while herding them into a coop.

Probably a litle bit offtopic, but I do find it interesting that BYC automatically links the website of TSC also written as tractor supply whenever mentioned. Ofcourse it's a very popular place to get chicks from in the USA, but here in the Netherlands I can't even access the site :he. So why am I promoting something I can't even look at:confused:?
The sponsors get their names linked . I don't know how much they pay for that.

Lowe’s grocery or hardware? I can never remember which has the apostrophe. No Lowes groceries around here.

I like Lowes, as much as I like any big box store, but someone’s son-in-law got hired to run their IT. Even the employees can’t keep caught up on what got moved where since their last shift.
Lowe's the home/hardware big box store.

Well, let’s just say that I was caught off-balance.

The best way to prevent yourself from getting anything untoward happening to you with any 'data' is to not click on links in emails and don't go to sketchy/pervy/gross/unsafe websites. Don't click on things. Don't click on ads.
Yes, don't be my mother... "Something is wrong with my computer, I clicked on a story about 'pick any little old lady click-bait ad topic' and all these windows keep opening.." *sigh

I google map walked Whitby so much before we went that I knew where everything was, when we got there..LOL
My husband and I, both determined escapists, read a lot of mysteries, including police procedurals. Books written for UK, for Scandinavian, for Italian etc readers assume a general knowledge of provinces, cities, counties, etc. which I don’t have. I used to have a cherished Rand McNally road atlas (book form) which I used continually, but now I use Google maps. (I was very proud to figure out where the building used for Slough House in the novels was, and where Lucia lived in Rye, and then I found that both were already common knowledge. Hmmph.)

I’ve been reading British mysteries for over fifty years and have suffered greatly through UK modernization. (I suppose I should write “modernisation.”) First decimalization/-isation just as I had FINALLY figured out pounds/ shillings/ pence, and let’s not even talk about guineas and other wacko units, and then metric system (wish we would), and yet they still go to the pub for a pint and people weigh 12 stones WTF, and then, OMG, they changed the names of all the counties and their associated police departments! (And one police force for the entirety of Scotland?!)

Y’all need to settle down over there. You’re wearing me out.
