I like silicone cake tins for open feed bowls. They're really difficult to tip unintentionally because the sides just squash down if they stand on them. Here I often find them in charity shops (thrift stores?) for £1 or less.

Probably because they seem like a good idea until you try to get them out of the oven with a hot baked something in them. Wobbly as all get out apparently!

I am stealing that idea! I use thrift store lasagna dishes which defy tipping because of the weight - but it seems like thrift store lasagna dishes must have hit some ‘influencer’ because there used to be many available and now none!

I've been using caterers' sandwich platters from work. They are sturdy, but considered disposable.

So essentially, y'all are telling me that no matter what I try, chickens, especially younger ones, are going to climb into their feed, and I might as well resign myself to it?

I am a terrible person, and I am enjoying this way more than I should be: a newbie did a necrobump on a 2020 thread, telling DobieLover that she didn't know what she was talking about, and that fermented feed was alcoholic, and she got buzzed when she drank it. And sort of doubled down on an additional old post. I really shouldn't laugh.
