I would like some pure breds because I have never had one before plus they live longer then the crosses. And if my parents let me get a roo I can muck around with the genes and create some wacky lookin chooks. There are about ten or fifteen different breeds I'd like but I'll see what's avaliable in a year or two.

Chickens don't have to be purebred to be beautiful or productive. It is fun to do some pure breeds though, you can really learn a lot about how to improve certain traits. And how complicated that can be!

These are chicks I hatched about 2 weeks ago. My first flock! They are Seramas ^_^ Their feather have come in a bit more since these pictures and it's obvious I have 7 frizzled and 3 smooth Seramas.

They're absolutely adorable! LOVE #9 - It looks like an itty-bitty penguin!

My 12 week RIR rooster, Foghorn. I know the original Foghorn was a white leghorn but he was my favorite cartoon character! Foghorn has 8 Ladies he loves dearly and is growing up with. Four RIRs and 4 Black Stars.

Aw thank you, Nope~ That's actually one of my serama chicks I hatched out, Both the EE and the serama were the same age
