Great roses! You get to have those cabbage type (english?) roses! Those type get all kinds of diseases down here 'cause they get stressed in the heat and humidity. Best bet we have down here is floribundas and a few of the antique and found roses. And some of the modern teas, but I'm not really keen on most of those. Black spot city. You still have to select through the antique pretty carefully! I had a huge mermaid rose that I thought was pretty indestructable but something got it and it did not leaf out this spring. It covered 20 ft of fence. I had to take all of it out piece by piece with welding gloves because the thorns were so wicked! I would LOVE to have a Ballerina!
You can grow all kinds of stuff up there that we can't down here. I actually live in zone 9! Well, on the southern edge of zone 9 and 8S. I wish I could grow everything you can up to zone 6 or so. So pretty.
AND NAT! Every few years we drive up that way, and next time we do I'll bring you a fish! My hubby makes 'em and I paint 'em!
He made our flotilla of flying pigs, too. The big fish weigh about 35 lbs and are all steel and turn and swim in the wind. He also made a barracuda that we got chromed and is very cool, but I have to put that up another time 'cause I didn't take a pic of it. Its in one of the ugly parts. He also made another barracuda but its not chromed, yet, but is better than the first!
I need to take pics of some of the other yard art he makes. He likes to make stuff BIG. Like a 3 ft dragonfly.
Brindle you know if you do come way the heck North up here I have a gorgeous cabin with all the emenities youd need

just have to give me heads up on the date so its not rented out
