She "dumped" her ferret on us. "Rant"

OMG, that's horrible. It's bad enough having to say that to an adult, but when an innocent kid is involved it's just a nightmare. Maybe someone will turn her in to Social Svcs and life will get better for the kid. I'll say a prayer for you. My family was extremely grateful that my sister didn't get pregnant when she was shacked up with the abusive boyfriend, or out on the street. She had a baby back in Sept, but like I said at least she has a place to live and her current boyfriend is a decent guy.

ok so here is the end of the tale. She showed up with a new boyfriend "I came to get some of my clothes" DH, kids and I are outside building a coop and playing. I said, you need to get all your clothes and things, you can't stay here anymore you will have to find somewhere else to live, you were not able to follow a few simple rules. She tried a couple of excuses, just kept telling her as I bagged up her clothes, they were real easy, if you had tried to help yourself your father and I would have helped you. "I know mom, I'm not mad, I understand" " I'll still come to visit" we told her we hoped she would.

whew, that was easier than I thought.

New year, new beginings, and hopefully new chickens soon.

As far as having kids, one bad egg out of 6 isn't too bad. I would say a pretty good hatch rate, especially with today's society lol. (joke)

Only a chicken lover would understand that statement and wholeheartedly agree.

Good going! But I have to ask - what became of the ferret???

I found Simon an experienced home, actually wasn't hard. He went with his new cage and all his other supplies I bought him this morning.
The kids and I did take good care of him while he was here, it just wasn't a pet that would work well in our home with 6 indoor dogs, 2 cats, a turtle, and chicks in a brooder and chickens outside.
They need alot of outside cage time and supervision and well, between working, teaching and "trying" to become a little more self sustainable we would not have been able to give him all that he needed. Other animals would have to all be caged for a few hours each day. Not good when 2 are service dogs. Kind of defeats the purpose.

I am so glad you found him a good home! YAY! Sounds like a happy ending.

Yes, lots of out of cage time. Try having 6 running around the house LOL Course, the only other pet in our house with them is the yorkie and she just ignores them.

I am going to get a brower on Jan 17th, my first, I am so excited. Kids are so excited. Teehee like expecting your first child all over again, or waiting for christmas morning to come. The anticipation is making me giddy.

"No honey, you go right on ahead and build that coop as big and as strong as you want, need more tools? ok." Framing nailer, sure. New drill, sure.

I look at the hatching eggs adds and sigh. Come on 17th.
