I am fixing to fire up the bator and put a batch in and see what I get. Thank goodness I have 3 bators, since I only have one hen. She is a very pretty girl!

I would have been angry too. I'm so glad you're getting eggs. Good luck and keep your sisters far, far away.

I'm afraid if she had been my sister I would have

However, not a good idea.

I have one little silkie from AHappyChick and she/he is growing up to be very pretty. It's a lavender/black split. All the babies are doing well from her. Very healthy, beautiful birds (got ameraucanas and FBCM). Good luck. I think your parents should have at least used this experience to teach your sister about respecting others' property and listening when you say, "NO," but that's just my opinion. 9 years old is plenty old enough to understand.

*hugs* Glad you're at least getting some good chicks from happy chick

More specifically, apparently the mailperson dropped the notice in the mail box yesterday, but I dont get home from work till 7:30, so by then, the p.o office is closed so I couldnt get them.

My mother offered to get them today and my response was, "NO WAY!" So I went to get them today on Lunch (Im at work). So now theyre sitting here in their box next to my desk. And Im keeping ppl away.

I plan to set them in the morning (to give them time to settle and warm slowly).
AHappyChick I cant even begin to say how greatful I am. This is the NICEST thing...This is so awesome! Thank you thank you thank you! Im so excited! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
NONE are broken, and I have to say thats the BEST packing job I have EVER seen for hatching eggs! EVER!

BTW everyone, update on my sister, on their feedstore excursion yesterday she got some lil blue silkies and other assorted birds..and somehow, she and thr 11 year old drug the brooder to their room. I didnt think that was good idea, and the 9 year old started whining...and the 11 year old REALLY shut her up. So now, both girls know what will happen, and are actually enjoying and taking care of "their" chicks. Actually, they ran out to my brooder this morning and drug in the four week old Porcelain d'Uccle thats to be one of their showmanship birds, and started showing my mother the wing, etc, etc.

crazy little girls. Theyre not miniature me's, but Im starting to think maybe they learned something from this roasting experience. Finally.
Mostly the moral of the story is tho dont trust my sisters anywhere NEAR my special birds. LOL

Im so excitedly nervous..I dont wanna mess anything up. Should I add water to the resevoirs for all 18 days like Im supposed to (and used to back when I hatched things like a good little girl. LOL) , or try that dry hatch method I did with the last batch of my bionic chickens, or what?
