She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Ugh hygrometers. I bought 2 additional to use in the 'bator (1 digital and 1 analog). Did the salt reading to see if they are accurate. the analog one is about 10% higher than the digital, and of course i bought the cheap one that doesn't have a manual adjustment on it :idunno . The digital reading was at 52%, so pretty close. The temp on both are accurate to the thermostat. 'Bator is set to be delivered Friday, so I will be testing all 3 to see if the 'bator and digital match/near match.

And why is life never easy? Got a total of 5 hours of sleep last night to be woken up bright and early because the dog had a seizure. He was ok all morning, then about an hour ago had 3 in a row.  So I "get" to stay home with him until the vet can see him. Yay for sick days being spent waiting/watching for seizures instead of my own sickness. Canine epilepsy stinks. In case anyone had any doubts.
Awww, I'm so sorry to hear that. I would lose my mind of 1 of my dogs had a seizure. I would freak out and probably have a seizure myself. I hope he/she is ok amd gets better.

I've never entered a 'real" show, maybe next year.  This was on Facebook and just judged on pictures.  With the AI scare and lots of poultry shows shut down, the virtual show was pretty popular - I think there was around 2700 entries.

So glad I entered though, because I was able to see so many of the winners and compare their pictures.  It gave me a nice idea on what some of the judges are looking for.
Did someone say Orloff parade?

Yeah, we've been battling epilepsy with him for the last 3 years, he is on medication for it and does fairly well. He will go for about 6-8 months w/o seizures, but then one day.... he will have anywhere between 4 and 12 seizures. When we get to #4 we go see the doc and get a bit of Valium to "reset" his system. If it gets up to 12 it's a trip to the emergency vet because usually they happen during the night/after hours, and he gets to stay there for the night. Second dog in my life time we've had that has epilepsy. Not so scary now, just stressful.

Mine was a bit more time sensitive than eggs, lol... posting pics... :)
Were those little silkie eggs in that picture with you huge variety?
Champion Row Virtual Poultry Show, September 2015 1st, BB 1st RB Results just got posted. :weee So excited, even though there weren't a lot of Orloffs entered.
Yay!!! Congrats on the wins!!!
Calm down, Chrissy. I've never made public what I think of CCL. I was using you as an example. Friday would :smack me if I said WV or sideWing again :gig
I know how you feel about them. You have told me before. I figured you were using me as an example but just wanted to be 100% sure. Hard to read infection and context online.

I've never had a dog with epilepsy, knock on wood, I would be scared to death. But then again I'm a BIG worrier. Ever since I set these eggs I've been a nervous wreck. Now that I've locked down I'm even more worried, when hatch day comes I'll be hovering over the bator waiting, with shaking hands, to help the first pipper, lol. I'll be on the edge of a nervous breakdown, lol. I hope your dog is ok though. I have 3 pit bulls that are all like my children, I couldn't live without them.

Yep, but it grows on ya, lol... I do prefer the clean faced for most part, but the best part of them is their personalities and intelligence levels... astounding...

I've never cared for Araucana's because of the tufts. (Though I do like the Amaraucana muffs and beards.) But my nn hen is ee/aracauna and sported a couple cheek tufts (funny looking thing) and she is a sweetheart.. She lays big ole green eggs...lol

*Update* All 9 have made it to lockdown and they are VERY active and looking good.

that all 9 make it but prepared for none. Actually, no, I'm not, but I'll get over it and set again soon after.
ETA: I'm having problems getting my humidity up. It's made it up to 62% but won't go any farther. I've got 3 sponges and all channels full. Don't know what to do now?
I was going to ask about your hygrometer, but it's all been said. I'd give it time and see if it comes up. If you need to, close vents for 1/2 hour to up the humidity but just remember to open them back up. I usually close mine to get the humidity up at lockdown and then open them back up and it doesn't fall too drastically.
