I know how you feel about them. You have told me before. I figured you were using me as an example but just wanted to be 100% sure. Hard to read infection and context online.

Infection fits him well, lol... nope, my Silkies weren't laying yet when I took that pic, plus their eggs are bigger... those are Self Blue OEGB's and 2 center tiny ones were fairy eggs...

LOL no, there wasn't that much competition, although I am proud of them.

You should see the Black Ameraucana from Cliff Redden - absolutely gorgeous!

Redden breeds nice blacks... had 2 pullets from his line... they were in the massacre...

Ugh hygrometers. I bought 2 additional to use in the 'bator (1 digital and 1 analog). Did the salt reading to see if they are accurate. the analog one is about 10% higher than the digital, and of course i bought the cheap one that doesn't have a manual adjustment on it  . The digital reading was at 52%, so pretty close. The temp on both are accurate to the thermostat. 'Bator is set to be delivered Friday, so I will be testing all 3 to see if the 'bator and digital match/near match.

And why is life never easy? Got a total of 5 hours of sleep last night to be woken up bright and early because the dog had a seizure. He was ok all morning, then about an hour ago had 3 in a row.  So I "get" to stay home with him until the vet can see him. Yay for sick days being spent waiting/watching for seizures instead of my own sickness. Canine epilepsy stinks. In case anyone had any doubts.

Just make sure you calibrate the thermometer. I loved this link someone posted a few weeks ago.

And I feel for you and your dog. I used to house sit for a big weimaraner that had seizures and I got to witness it first hand. Not fun!

So I guess the temp should still be about 101 at the top of the eggs?

Some people lower the temp .5 for hatch. I usually don't but I'm thinking about it. Supposed to be less heat shock for the chicks.

I would hova all nnight and day regardless of what I had....lol

Yes!!!

Yeah, we've been battling epilepsy with him for the last 3 years, he is on medication for it and does fairly well.  He will go for about 6-8 months w/o seizures, but then one day.... he will have anywhere between 4 and 12 seizures. When we get to #4 we go see the doc and get a bit of Valium to "reset" his system. If it gets up to 12 it's a trip to the emergency vet because usually they happen during the night/after hours, and he gets to stay there for the night. Second dog in my life time we've had that has epilepsy. Not so scary now, just stressful.

Both of my dogs have seizures occasionally, one more than the other. Its not fun.

If the combs are correct then I have a 50/50 split on boys and girls I think. Hard to get them to hold still. I may endup with 4 pullets and 6 cockerels.

Mine don't even look like the same breed. I am as anxious to watch yours grow as you are. I've had the heartbreak of my BCM, and the elation of my Ams, so I'm really enjoying watching yours

I've bought eggs from over state lines without them being NPIP. I think it might depend on the state? They only said fragile.

Here's my newest addition, just picked him up at the PO... double tufted, rumpless black Araucana cockerel...

That bird is legit! I'm getting my first grown birds in the beginning of Oct. I'm not sure what the shipping will be, but I know it's going to be a lot. If you can give me an idea via PM I would appreciate it.
