U can totaly do it! I have worked dilagently at making the start of a local network. Those people all want to expand now, and i have the good incubator to do it for em

I really Need all of You also so that i can provide the best lives possible for them! Then, it may be easier for me Because, all of this was taken on, with the underlying mindset that they may not be for keeps. I have always loved critters and i knew it would be easy for me to go Way overboard, so i only have 2 "pet" chickens, other than them, (and my turkeys, uhhhh.... ) anyone else could be sold for the right amount of cash, and that personal seperation from jump is important for me. Also important that i have my couple lil pets, or else i wouldnt be happy... and: I am one of the lucky few who read the book Before i fell in love

that made the mentality easier... But you are a smart enough woman that i am Absolutly Positive that you can and will come far enough as to emotionally seperate yourself when the time comes.

This is obviously the wrong time of year, but are there any swaps near you? I found one of my favorite contacts at a swap, and two other contacts who fequent the swaps. My local market is where i stand to gain, is that the case with you? Others, with breeds most people dont understand, like Pyxis, are better off here on BYC and Ebay. Rayvn and BYC910 have been doing well at the auction, and if thats a viable choice, then so be it... Most of our local vendors are pretty good around here. I know that you know how to ask the right questions to learn about the person behind the pretty birds...

Thank you! I think I made a good contact when I had my turkey listed on CL. A lady with a small farm, not too far from me. She has a few select SQ breeds that she works with. I think she may end up helping me out a lot.

Day 14? I'm thinking it looks fine, but a pic of the whole egg in regular lighting, with the air cell circled might give better perspective of the size of the air cell compared to the whole egg.

Your so right! I bet its great for class too! I am starting day 14 this evening, so i was up before the crack of dawn with a few of you peoples and i candled 43 of the 48 i set are healthily developing! All 14 of the semi pourous bresse eggs, and both of the black isbars included! So glad i bought those eggs! I lost 5 of my own hens eggs, maybe due to aging in storage? Some of them were up to three weeks by set, and the ones i lost are the oldest... From my own mix breed flock; Still have remaning, 14 brown, and 13 green it should be a pretty neat OG and dark layer flock that im hatching. My roo is Very watery BCM, then ontop of the OG its fun! Ruby! I havent forgotten you requested more pics of Mr Bullwinkle! No REAL excuse, ive just been running hard! hey everybody! Keep the good news coming!

Did you trace them on day 7? You know, for a few batches I stopped tracing air cells on day 7,14 & 18 and boy does it make a big difference when you do. For me it was so much easier to see how they were doing by comparing them to the previous lines. I've gone back to tracing and plan on always doing it that way. It helped me monitor growth a lot.

The 2 eggs came to an agreement on timing and hatched within 1 minute of each other. They were really arguing from the sound of it. Maybe one wasn't ready and the other one was telling it to hurry up for Petes sake! Lol

Me too. I guess technically they can say they both had 100% hatches...lol

I do too. I'm a visual learner and I find it so much easier to monitor growth and it helps me to see if certain eggs are slower/faster than others. Plus 18 day candle is always a bonus to help know how to lay eggs if you lay flat for hatch.

That contact really IS really great! Seriously Gold! If we can work togther as a group theres so many more breeds and bigger better goals to be accomplished! You need two or three pens for proper genes diversity right? If two of your friends each have one, then yall can all have the desired breed working towards better birds... OR, apply it to a meat cross? Eh?! OR another concoted scheme of mine one of my bestest longest time ever friends? Shes a city gal, BUT she can raise babies

what i hate is uh, Sometimes people dont uphold the standards that we are addicted to BYC for, and my own standards arent even what i see in some peoples, BUT we cant control how everyone treats animals :/

That one though, she sounded like a real sweet gal, with her pet turkeys i wouldve Loved to have Gemma!
