Well that is good to know, I used the manna pro wipes on this batch and they have all hatched. So I am nor afraid to use it again. This wet weather is making them pretty mucky, plus one of the crazy cockerels thinks he is a broody hen, I have to turf him out of the nesting box daily. He muddies them up after the girls finish laying. He always sits on the full box too.
wait till you set My GLW roo was doing that but quit . in this weather it's hard not to wash .there two or three ways to wash always heard the egg and water temperature should be the same .![]()

No NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO MO DUCKS I don't care how cute they are . they like most women nice to look at and talk to but I don't have to keep the DUCK
Water should be slightly warmer than the egg, not cooler...
Cooler water can cause bacteria to be sucked through the pores of the shell...
Now you see that right there is why we keep you other than we loves you . you smart @sDaniel Webster himself![]()

I don't go by that article anymore. A lot of us tried it and had a lot of lockdown deaths. Read the info that Friday forwards to you. Turning is to important during days 3-8. If the air cell is that damage then chances are no matter what you do, it won't hatch. I only wait 24-48 hours now and gently tilt the egg by hand at a 45 degree angle. By day 12 the air cells will be solid, even if they are in a weird shape. And can be turned regularly. I let mine rest 12 hours prior to putting them in the incubator.I'll be following the info here as a guide: https://mbasic.facebook.com/notes/f...beth-white-via-cheryl-shires/548615281826504/ I was thinking about 7 days without turning and a 48 hour rest prior to hatch. I just reread that article, and read your comments and decided *against* not turning for that long. I'll probably hand turn them for the first 7, and then stop turning them at day 16, then do an upright hatch. Should I leave them alone for 48 hours?
Mario too! Awesome job, Amy. Truly amazing...you've got skills.
See my first quote above.Haha..I'm trying to absorb information here!I just read the article chooks linked on shipped eggs. To turn or not to turn for the 1st 7 days seems to be the question... I seriously had a dream last night, I got my shipped eggs and when I opened the box there was yolks everywhere.. a couple were just cracked. Lol.. it was a mess.
