I know, need a bit of feed dough. All these chickens are eating me out of house and home. I am getting through 250 lbs a month and that dosent include the meaties. I am keeping all the next batch that I am going to put in with the turkey eggs on Wednesday. I want to keep them all. I would be afraid that I would damage them if I tried to vent sex. I wouldn't want to chance it.

As to why on the water temp... heat causes expansion, pushes outward through shell... cold causes contraction, thus sucking in through the shell... make sense?

I only have 21 chickens and 3 turkeys. I am not free ranging them at the moment because I am planting my garden. Without the meat ones. They do eat a lot. I do give them cabbage and other fruits and veggies every day too.
