She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

That is actually the curve of the chicks back... it should internal pip in the space that was down from where you were looking...

But it's still alive, so Yay!!

WalnutHill, Im sorry to sound like such a moron. Well, I kind of am right now, its my first hatch. I had 5 hatch on Friday(day 20) 1 hatch yesterday (day 21) and figured they were done. I just candled the last 3 and 1 is dead for sure, 1 I see no movement, and the 1 Sultan egg you can see what looks like breathing in that dark part pushing up and down into the air cell. Is that the start of an internal pip? I did not dare touch my other ones since lockdown so I never did see what any of it was like.
I didn't know. Ok, glad I didn't do anything. they told me its the internal pip starting. :)
These are shipped eggs, right? In my experience the ones that are pushing on the membrane like that a couple days after hatch, do not make it to internal pip. Keep an eye on it. It's position may not be correct. If it does internally pip then you can definitely try and save it. I'm hoping it does it all on its own for you. :fl

One of my barred rocks has been broody for a good week now and I just keep taking the eggs. One day she had 12 under her! She can cover a lot, the little fatty! Anyway today all I did was walk in the coop and she started growling at me...lol It's too bad I wasn't a broody lover because it seems like with this group there's always someone that wants to be broody.

I started collecting my Spitzhauben's eggs today so that I can set them with the silkies. That will put the oldest egg around 10/11 days if the shipped don't get lost. I'm dating the eggs too so that I can see which ones hatch. I'm anticipating this hatch to be my lowest rate since that dreaded first hatch....lol But hopefully I'll still get a decent number. I'm going to calculate the shipped eggs seperately from the Spitz and hope that I have a better hen/roo ratio this go round with them.

I always date mine. Not sure if I told you, but wanted to mention that my last set, I started them early in the morning. Later that day one of the girls laid a nice egg so I added it, less than 12 hours later. And it hatched first!

Question for you experts. Today is day 21 for my eggs. I'm using a Brinsea Mini Advanced, and on day 18 I filled the reservoir full, removed the turner and locked them down. They are in a classroom at my child's school and I wasn't able to candle before I locked down. There are 2 eggs. Today when I went in the classroom and checked them there was no sign of anything. I'm worried about how the humidity level was during incubation since another teacher with the same incubator told this teacher to just fill both reservoirs because that's what she does when she hatches duck eggs each spring. So I'm a bit fearful that the humidity level was too high!

At this point, I just keep letting them be for another day or two, right? They're on opposite sides of the 'bator, should I put them closer to each other? Should I candle for internal pips or just let them be? This is our second attempt in the class, the first one failed (I think non fertilized eggs).

I just keep thinking "c'mon chickies! Hatch for the kids!"

I would just leave him alone for another day or two and then if no pip then I would candle them to see. it's not always exactly 21 days specially if your temperature is running a little low
