She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Once upon a time, SC asked for some Wheaten Ameraucana pics.... My pair that hatched from my "gift eggs" that came with my Orloff eggs: You can see the male feathering in with the darker feathers already And then my sole survivor of an order of 6 shipped eggs that spent an extra day travelling around Albuquerque. This is the "Neuro Chick" that was a stargazer after an assisted hatch. And of course, the Orloffs just for good measure and because I love them... Big size discrepancy, I think I have a pair.
Those are lovely! So many pretty birds make me want some of each breed!

So, an observation I've made I would like others to comment on.

During week 3, chicks click into the idea of just eating because they're bored. My 3 Musketeers have gone from one half bowl per day, to 2 full bowls a day...

My chicks are pigs from the moment they get in the brooder!!

and all I feed is fermented, so its way less effort for them to digest and get energy from it. Luckily yesterday they had finally eaten all the fermented starter I had readied for the 30 I hoped for.

I also do fermented feed. My older guys LOVE it. But I can't get the chicks to try it. Any ideas?

I'm sorry to hear that Ontario has taken up the Michigan "small farms are bad" mentality.  I did fight, and won...but many have lost.

I sell meat birds for considerably more than grocery prices.  Egg prices are on par with specialty grocer Organic Brown Eggs.

Diversity in food is something that we do need.  I am glad you get it, I am glad my customers get it.  Some of them haven't made the move on the meat birds, others have.

I wish I knew someone locally that sold chicken meat. How do you find local meat? I've never seen anything on Craigslist but I only look in the farm & garden section.

that's so awesome I'll go and get some tomorrow and try it here now post that picture again so I don't have to go find it the other thing is daily up dates on how long it lasts.

Here's the picture again. Someone also found it on Amazon. I bought it a the dollar tree. I have a small cup in there. I put it in at 10pmlast night. Humidity was 55% when I put it in. I checked at 7am and humidity was 25%. It's still at 25% (9pm) and I haven't changed the cup. (I have about 10 more cupfuls left in the package). I'm going to run 25% till lockdown on Monday.

I have been in the business world for nearly 40 yrs, and I have heard the term "take it to the next level" so many times it hurts. I've so many friends who have "cashed in" on their internet ideas by selling it to someone who could "take it to the next level". I am trying to do that on so many things right now, its hilarious...and the funniest thing is I am trying to go from C$10k, to C$30k...I really want to start a Kickstarter campaign, but they'd laugh..."what, you only need 20k? Are you serious?"

Oh if we could only get people to take organic food seriously...

I wished we lived closer.

So, the next couple of days I should be busy getting everything done and ready to get away for a couple days. It's been two years since I last took a little vaca and got away from the house and my caretaker responsibilities. I love my dad and wouldn't want it any other way, but I really need this. When I got out of college I moved a couple hours away, down by my sister and lived there for 12 years before my mom died and I moved back to take care of my dad, so I have a whole life down there I miss too and my Bestest best friend is down there. So, excited to get away for the weekend and just hoping my van doesn't strand me anywhere between here and there. My other sister will be coming up to take care of our dad and my chickens. I just need to get motivated and get everything done....lol
Woo-hoo! Have fun!

I will be borrowing a incubator in a few days. I will be setting a few of my own EE/Cochin bantam, OEGB/ Cochin Bantam , Mille Fleur D Uccle / Cochin Bantam eggs. I havent set eggs in a couple years, since my homemade cooler bator that was a total failure.

Nonsense. You can still let loose with a kid. I'm not talking getting drunk and dancing topless here.

I'm just talking about relaxing and enjoying yourself. Have fun.

In fact it's perfectly acceptable to act like a kid with your kid sometimes.

It's goofy and is an instant stress reliever.
Depends on the kid!

Hm. Never used an Android. My family are Apple users completely. On my iPod on the Safari app, I slide my finger down and the website/search bar thing appears, and there's a little arrow in a circle I can touch. It usually saves my place, too, which is good because I have it set to show 50 posts per page.

Androids do this too. Just depends on the phone. Mine is a Moto G 2nd gen and it does all these things. ;)
