Turkey poults imprint too. I talk to my eggs as they are pipping, and talk to the chicks whenever I walk into the room the brooder is in. However...I learned years ago NOT to keep the brooder where they can see me most of the time. I keep the brooder in a spare bathroom off my office. I can hear them, they can hear me, but they can't see me until I walk in there. So they imprint to my voice instead of my presence, and even when they are full grown they answer back when I talk to them but they don't do the highly annoying looking for me. If they cheep, I talk back, then they settle down.
But thanks for the advice on peachicks...I decided long ago that as exotic and beautiful as they are, anything louder than a donkey is not going to be in my coop.

You would wanna hide! I might b small but im Positive uve heard about small packages...
I only have the one turkey, and I expected that she would be much more imprinted on me than she is. She speaks to me as soon as I am within sight, but she doesn't cling to me when I'm around. She will let me touch her and pick her up, but she doesn't run to me. She seems just happy to be here. So maybe the fact that I had the brooder in another room, and I handled her a little, but not overly much, may have, by chance, worked out well for me.![]()
