I put a 22 in the one I caught
A woman on the Polish thread gave me the best advice ever for handling Damien. It never made him nice, but it kept him from charging and flogging.
Any time the rooster challenges you, just charge him. Don't kick at him, just back him up. Keep going after him and get him off his territory. Doing that to stop him from mounting a hen will also assert your dominance. Don't let him mate in your presence. Separate him from the other girls. Back him into a corner if you can. All of this is just me repeating what someone else, seminolewind, told me, but it works
Let one get into your coop. Retribution is much more satisfying than being humane
I've done that with a skunk
45 makes a bigger hole
I also got to see one killed by a 22. It was a vey big possum. The he was out into a black garbage bag and taken to the dump.
I had to quote this because thumbs up wasn't enough! This made me crack up!!
I'll snap some pics today!
This is one of my all time favorite movies, ever!!!
My mom had a pet opossum for years!! I gotta dig out a pic for you SC!!! Hahaha!!
you're horridly in humane to possums. But they're horribly-er inhumane to chickens
I have been full of myself for 2 days, but that picture was perfect for rossfam
First I had to throw the firewood at it to stun it and slow it down. Then I got to it, picked the wood back up, and slammed it back down. 4 times...
Owwwwwww. I've never actually killed an animal (in terms of chicken predators) but I've seen plenty being killed. Foxes, coons, possums. And snakes.
