Those eggs just caught my eye and are offensive for any breeder worth their salt... I'm in TN, south of Nashville... I have Ameraucanas, Araucanas, Cream Legbars, Sulmtalers, Marans, Silkies, OEGB's and bantam Araucanas...

I saw some cream legbars in readyville on ebay is that you

You get a BYC hug for that :hugs

I don't raise chicks for sale, so I hatch what my flock lays and pick what I like from what hatches.  But I am looking for my own SOP, with the same body type as your model SLW.  I had them once, mine were hatchery stock, and looked like RSL in black and white.  Hardly SLW...but they laid decently and that is what most people want.

With my turkeys, I am breeding my selected tom to three different hens.  One throws pure strain, two throw mixes.  I sell pure strain and keep the mixes for my meaties.  The best of the mixes are next year's breeders.  Fortunately every hen's egg is unique enough that I can ID them in the nest.  BBB lays pale pink with pinkish spots, dark Narragansett lays a light cream egg with tan spots, light Narraganset did and now BBW does lay a cream egg with brown spots.  I can sell hatching eggs and know what's going to come out of them without having to pen the birds separately.  :/

Whatever you breed and however you select, it doesn't cost a dime to keep the best birds.  And yes, the best may cost a little more to start, but it saves a lot later in feed and earns more chick sales.

The little one with the small head and big beak has me wondering how it will turn out.

Awww shucks Walnut. Thanks! I must be doing something right. Or at least trying. :-)

Nope... I don't sell eggs yet...

and it can get a little weird at times other than that it can be a fun place If you want to know any thing about hatching eggs the answer is here if not it somewhere close by and if you know more than us thank god you came along cause we can use the help .

Just saw this skimming new posts... I am offended for you, so sorry for this... feedback can be added to on ebay, but I agree on you waiting to see how they develop (even though normally shipping causes most development issues), I'm betting you get at least a couple that turn into stinkers... those would be contaminated by the bacteria so obviously on those shells...

PM me if you would like to try other eggs... :)

If there is no development, I will check for the bullseye and see if they were even fertilized. Thank you I appreciate the offer. Youaybe hearing from me in 21 days. Ha ha.

Grew up raising chickens and just about everything else, lol... still early with my breeds, so I won't sell eggs until they are closer to what I want... I hatch tons, doing fairly well there, but can always learn more... :)

No, you just got caught up in the crossfire. Being a kid is fine, just don't ask me to talk like one. You didn't, but the one who does knows who she is :old
That makes you purple. Candling every day will get you :smack ed, but sleeping at night is blue, and 12 hrs is purple. Blue (me) is a minimum 24 hrs, but red pulls them as they hatch. What kind of incubator do you use?
at the moment I use a brinsea eco 20. I am also trying to do the completely blue approach when hatching my next batch of 28 pheasants.I allso have a styro one as a hatched.
