She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I must say... the little ones we hatch are darling, but it doesn't get much cuter than a momma with babies.

Adorable!   And Ice and Frosty are soooo sweet looking

Your so right!

I have to admit, it is so sweet seeing the babies with momma. I love watching them.

:)

I bet its great for class too!

I am starting day 14 this evening, so i was up before the crack of dawn with a few of you peoples and i candled :)

43 of the 48 i set are healthily developing! All 14 of the semi pourous bresse eggs, and both of the black isbars included! So glad i bought those eggs!

I lost 5 of my own hens eggs, maybe due to aging in storage? Some of them were up to three weeks by set, and the ones i lost are the oldest...

From my own mix breed flock;
Still have remaning, 14 brown, and 13 green :) it should be a pretty neat OG and dark layer flock that im hatching. My roo is Very watery BCM, then ontop of the OG :D its fun!

Ruby! I havent forgotten you requested more pics of Mr Bullwinkle! No REAL excuse, ive just been running hard!

:frow hey everybody! Keep the good news coming!

:D of course! Am i not the one who sold almost her Entire First Hatch three days after their hatch?!

The 14 bresse are my project, the 14 browns are for sale as high prod darker layers, the 13 green i want to keep, but i would let em go, and the two isbars are my only ??? I still know at least two, maybe three people, who want to pick up their pullets numbs :) i will eat any extra roos... Im down to only two roos on my property and one is a silkie that i dont want. I only have 13 hens all told in chickens so i can afford to drop these feet! I appreciate your concern though, i know it is a rather large hatch! I figure its the last hatch for awhile and any of these girls that i cant sell, would be worth more in spring anyway, as POL pullets :) one way or another, theyre gonna work for me, as long as i dont do this again next month ;)

It is. Our very first hatch was solely for a school project, had no plans to raise chickens, not the least bit interested. Until Peep hatched from our compromised hatch and we couldn't let him go-of course he needed friends and we had to try again...lol. We've got to watch multiple hatches and see differences in chickens and growth and learned so much that added to the "school" experience, but the broody experience let's us observe the natural growth and life cycle. I think he's gotten quite a bit out of seeing a calm broody versus a ferocious one and watching how momma protects and teaches her babies. It really does add to the experience and learning process.

K, I'll start with this 1, my signal is being stupid today so I'm going to wait a little bit before I try to post solo pics, sorry y'all

Adorable!

Any Icelandic names y'all can think of? I've thought of Ingrid, Astrid, Baltasar, Erika, Helga... I'm having a hard time with boy names, lol. Hiccup from How To Train Your Dragon, lol. Or Stoic.
