Best Hova out there is the Genesis 1588, but that will set you back approx 150, no matter how you slice it...
Otherwise, I would go with the 1602n, it's still air and between 40-50 bucks depending on where you find it...
The big thing is that temps aren't as critical for the last 3 days as they are for the first 18... you don't want a spike, but a little low is ok at that point...
ETA: and still air is better if you need to assist, otherwise if you leave it closed the whole time a fan is fine in a hatcher...
I like to be able to open. I don't open more then twice a day, usually but if I need to I want to be able to without panicking. This is the first hatch that I actually lowered temps, since I was running high. So I see what you mean.
Mine has a fan and we know how well I leave mine closed at hatch.lol
I've had my eye on the 1583 Hovabtor. It's a bit cheaper than the 1588, because it's not all digital thermostat and all but has the same picture window. I want the picture window...lol
Yes, I agree with that. I'm so used to not having digital controls that I doubt I would trust them much if I did. I need a window!! I prefer a dome but with better capacity!

SC thinks windows are pretty darn important....lol
