Oh no worries, no blood drawn.....
Dont mind at all! In fact, I thank you!I'm moving this over here to not hijack the feed thread, hope you don't mind
I'm not sure how the vet could have known they were getting too much of one vitamin and not enough of others without doing a blood draw and checking the levels of the vitamins in the blood. I know your drake was yellowing, but that can be caused by the sun, eating corn, eating dark leafy greens, etc. Unless she was just going by the amount of vitamins that are in the feed and thought some were too high and some too low for ducks, although I think the bag only lists levels of Vitamin A and E.
I know the vet visit was very hectic, so maybe something was lost in communication. Hopefully your phone call tomorrow clears it up.
Thank you, It has been a rough couple of weeks...Hello...Yellowing of White Ducks happens before a molt..Then they are Beauiful white Ducks again.
Sorry your going through such issues..Hope soon it settles.
Ted will forever be......Ted, AKA - Big Bird lolThat’s ok. We all have those crazy days. I’m glad you no longer have “big bird”.
Yes, this couldn’t be worse timing to have to spend a good chunk of time each day doctoring them! Brrrr. Just for conversation sake, what kind of feed did you have at your local feed store? I really liked the purina feed at TSC. I don’t typically buy it now because it’s an extra 30 min drive for me. Poor Bill..... I know laying issues have a genetic component but I’d be curious to know if mating/over mating or aggressive mating plays a role in the health of the females reproductive tract. Not that I expect you to have an answer, but just thinking aloud.
I hope the nasty weather is calming down for you as it is for me. Almost 60 degrees today! I was smiling and felt like walking on air all day! Good luck at their appointment! I’m hoping for a good report.![]()
