At least that’s not too far over and the 15-25 is probably an average anyways. I’m sure males weigh more anywayI think Sammy weighs 30 or 35. But hey, I'm probably (definitely!) way over breed standard myself, so .....

LmaoooooOh wow!
I wish obese and out of standard wouldnt be normalized.
I love English bred note than American in almost every breed
Nobody thinks Tucker is a golden though. Guess he is my reactive mix breed then
Nah, you didn't. What's sad is that people are so misinformed. And, er, opinionated. I mean, I know Sammy's over breed standard and that's fine. Gracie also weighed 35#. I had a Golden that weighed 93#, talk about over standard! But he was the most amazing thing! There's more to "dog" than height and weight or ear stance or tail carriage. I would be so tickled to see a 15-lb Sheltie, I would never say such a dog was not a true representative of it breed just because mine happens to be bigger, lol! Also sorry, didn’t mean to make you sad, @BigBlueHen53![]()
I mean Denver is 80lbs and perfectly healthy weight. She grew into her weightI’m sure not every dog that’s above weight is badly bred or anything especially only slightly above weight. But a 50-60+ lb sheltie, something is wrong lol
There is definitely more to weight and height. Almost every golden around me is overweight. I dont care about breed standard. Im talking goldens that have issues because they are overweight.Nah, you didn't. What's sad is that people are so misinformed. And, er, opinionated. I was meaning dogs that are severely overweight. A thiner/ lean dog doesnt mean its unhealthy but most people think that especially around me. Along with muzzles they think every dog is aggressive. Dont know how many times ive heard oh that dogs aggressive with Tucker.
That’s true and I wasn’t saying or wasn’t trying to say all dogs above or below the standard are bad dogs or badly bred or anything like that. But Goldens are a little different, at least to me, because they are already big dogs to begin with. Shelties are small to maybe medium dogs that look bigger because of the fluff. When you start getting into 50 and 60 pounds, that’s the same size as a regular size Collie. It defeats the whole purpose of the breed. A little bit over like Blue’s dogs is fine but when it totally changes the breed it’s different IMO. And I’m not even one that normally cares too much about the standards or whatever and I often even prefer working lines over show lines, especially with retrievers, spaniels, border collies, GSDs and Mals, etc. etc. Aussies I do still like show lines, but anyway, point is, I like a lot of working lines or even some mixes better, BUT!!!! They do still exist for a reason and if we start having 60 lb Shelties, what’s to stop BYBs from making 15 lb Collies next? Which is very similar to a Sheltie then so where does the line get drawn? That’s my point is all. Wasn’t trying to offend or anything. My family has always had mutts and/or poorly bred dogs so it’s not like I’m some dog purist or something. I’m not. There is definitely more to weight and height. Almost every golden around me is overweight. I dont care about breed standard. Im talking goldens that have issues because they are overweight.
Tucker nor Denver are in breed standard but they are much more than that.
