- - - it has not happened to me, but my friend had a problem with one of her birds and internal laying, and she couldn't afford the surgery...

I am so sorry for your loss. How sad. If I had known, I would have tried to comfort you. But I am pretty ignorant when it comes to advice.

We just got two young adult RIR hens. I think that they are such a beautiful color.

The chicks that you own are gorgeous.

I just finished reading both of your posts. I'm so sorry for your loss and your bad experience. This is the 1st I saw this. I myself don't know much about chicken illnesses. I know nothing of egg-bound birds, cholera, or crop impaction as others have suggested. I just try to do a lot of reading. (Sometimes I think I read too much and am looking for problems) When I do see a post about something I have dealt with I try to give my 2 cents but I always tell people that I'm not a vet and not knowing the bird I can only guess. I was glad to see you did not give up on your chickens and am happy for you and your new fuzzy butt additions.

I am sorry for your loss. I didn't see your post. you can not blame other people for the death of your chicken. I know how heart breakng it is to loose a pet. If I saw your post I probably wouldn't have been able to help because I am not experienced in chicken illnesses. again I am really sorry... Hugs

I am sorry your chicken died. I never even saw the post. Are there any vets in the area you can take them to in case of another emergency?
