i had a very hard time trying to give them any. i have 75. so i mixed 3/4th of the tube in some wet feed and poured it in a line in the coop.it seemed as if they all ate equal.

Granny how long do you think she may have been stuck in the block? May have been a combination of things.

I rarely recommend ivermectin as a wormer for chickens anymore. It has lost its effectiveness as a wormer due to worm resistance in chickens to the product. It will still kill mites and I normally only recommend it in severe cases of mite infestations.
As far as wormers go, valbazen is the safest and most effective wormer on the market, safeguard is excellent as well. However, neither treats mites. That where lubricants are used to treat scaly leg mites. I normally recommend Nu-stock for leg mites.
I'm sorry you went through this, it's tough...been there also, and it's always a favorite.

hi dawg, i know you told me before i used it that it wasnt the right thing to use. but i already had it and they had the leg mites so i went for it. have you ever seen symptoms of an over dose with this? they had never been wormed and i saw no signs of any. i was looking for an easy way out. i found it i guess.

Hey Grannie, don't beat yourself up. I doubt if it was the ivermectin anyway. It was probably something unknown, maybe internal laying, EYP, or her age that caused her weight loss, and the stress from today just did her in. Just worm them with some SafeGuard next time.
