Well, the ultra-pasteurized stuff doesn't even have to be refrigerated.

But the raw milk we get once a week, and holds fine for that 7 days. If it somehow sits longer than that (rare, it's usually long gone) I just use it in recipes, things like pancakes. Do you know if your in-law is talking about raw or cooked milk? I was under the assumption that raw milk is more popular in Europe.

She was talking about just regular milk, not raw. This is in Germany.

Weird I would call pasteurized milk regular. Pavlov response.

See how they have brainwashed us

raw milk should be called regular.

Well, YEAH in that form, and in that dose it's not great for you.

But then neither is the greasy, fed god knows what, patty on your CHEESEburger.

What a load. Now they're going to make some idiots think they have to give up all cheese because that alone is what makes that piece of pizza so fatty... oh and they'll switch back to the regular pizza... cuz that's not fatty at all. Sheesh, who's dumb and who's dumber... the journalist or the readers who believe it?

I was surprised to read the increase in cheese consumption per person. 33 pounds per person per year, that number can't be right.

I don't eat very much cheese and feel better for it. I used to eat Cream Cheese on my bagel but now I make Yogurt cheese and use that instead. A little bit better for you and it tastes almost the same.
Dogs get the whey on their food. Good for them too.

More of a bite, not salty, creamy, sort of like sour cream but my taste buds are way off because I have no sense of smell.......

Most people like it.

You have to use natural yogurt, works best if it doesn't contain gelatin. I use unflavored Balkan style, some people use flavored.

Put a paper towel in a strainer, dump in the yogurt, suspend it over a bowl, cover, put it in the fridge, leave it to drip for 3-4 days.
The whey drips through and you are left with yogurt cream cheese consistency in the strainer.

Give your dogs the whey. Chickens might like it ,never tried them with it.

There are recipes on the internet. I think most people call it YoCheese.

I don't eat quite that much but quite a bit. I would say our family of 4 (two young growing boys) eats around a pound a week.
We often have cheese related dishes instead of meat.

I drink very little 2% milk, but we do eat a good amount of cheese and home made whole milk yogurt. Never sour cream, once in a blue moon half and half. We do use butter not the fake stuff.

Is their any science to fermented dairy being more digestible/less artery clogging when it is in the form of cheese or yogurt?
