I have a call duck who has been setting on a nest of eggs for "long enough". According to my calculations, she's been on them at least 28 days. I took a look at some of the eggs under her while she was off getting a drink, and a few of the eggs have a definite air pocket, and the eggs have really darkened up, which I would assume is a baby inside. But then there are a few of the eggs with blotchy dark marks in a few spaces on the inside of the shell. I don't know what this could mean. I'll try to post some pictures if I can get some tonight, but just wondered if any of these things mean that they are about to hatch, or are severely rotten. :/
