So I'm thinking about a getting a roo somewhere down the road. With the RSL's I have no idea what I even need to be looking at. If I hatch any I think I want a little bigger bird, but I don't want to loose that pretty red color. So am I limiting myself to like a RIR? Idk just some things I'm thinking about for the future.

Edited to add: I also don't want to loose egg production.

JW - read up on second gen sex links. Most of the information is talking about sex link x sex link but pretty much everything I read says the offspring of sexlinks don't have the same kind of production as the first generation do. I know Penny is not a first gen sex link so I was kinda worried about her being a wacko but so far so good and her production has been good so far. Just something to think about.

ONE is about it. It has been several days since Smoke laid an egg. she was on the nest two days ago, but was just sitting on Penny's egg. I think that the heat is getting to them. I know that I sure as heck don't feel like laying an egg.

Well squirt is a reluctant mom to the chickies but when I left 4 of the 5 were underneath and the last was sticking out. I'll have to check them tomorrow to make sure they don't have any peck holes on their heads!!

Egg numbers were down which means they prob have a new nest somewhere!!!!

Actually... my favorite season is Fall. The leaves turn and the feel of the hunt is in the air. Its not hot or cold.... its just right.
