Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I know!!!! I've done the full on run outta the house in panic mode too to find out it's only the girls singing! Everyone says how noisy roosters are but you just don't imagine the girls!! I love listening too it!

Well Squirt is a fabulous mom and was NOT happy w me taking her new babies for pic. Phew so glad she adopted them.

No eggs so far today. I found some eggs late last night so this might be an off day for some.

OMG Lindz ,those are some ADORABLE babies!

JW - first time I heard the egg song I did the same thing. Tore out of the house thinking the worst and it was just Penny cackling her fool head off having just hopped out of the nest after a practice attempt at laying.

We got our first oddity today. Penny has been laying perfect eggs all along, no misfires or double yolkers til today. Finally she presented us with this:

9 eggs so far today! 2 were little so I think they might have been from first time layers! I can't wait till all 12 lay in one day

400 eggs so far today. So many extras I cracked them all into the bath tub and took a bath in them.

well yesterday went out to get eggs at about 2:30 and there in the new coop was an egg, first egg layed in this coop, i know who did it as it was blue, then today i went out at 9:30 checked big coop and 5 setting so i dd not get any from there went to new coop, there was a egg ne w there but this time it is a new layer, a little one, so now we will see at 3:00 or there abouts.

OMG I nearly spit my tea everywhere!!! 15 1/2 weeks here got about 8 girls reddening up

Oh yeah. Mine have been red for ages. They just have a philosophical objection to...you know...laying eggs.

Ahhhh after having the niece and nephew over for 4 days today begins my vacation of do nothing and go nowhere!

Tho I do miss the kiddos. Zach still loves the chickens and was feeding them all weekend w scratch mixed into their food. Needless to say feeding time is now mass assault to get to it first!!!

I painted my sign and stuck it in the driveway advertising all my EXTRA, SURPLUS eggs!!!!

Need to make $200 more dollars this year so in 2 years we can qualify for farm assessment when it comes down to property tax time.

I prob should just hatch some more babies!!! Lol

This batch of babies I just got is exceptionally cute!!!!
