Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

The girls were raising a ruckus this morning at 5ish am and then again at 6:30. I was hoping that meant two eggs, but there was just one blue one. Not sure who laid it but I'll betcha it was shadow. It wasn't yet stone cold so I missed the culprit by only a little while. darn it.

Gilcamp.... I use leftover scraps of venison or elk. A few years ago, when DH was processing an elk and tossing meat in the garbage pile, I said," HEY.... save that for dog food". So ever since, with whatever we kill, the meat that we don't eat gets made into dog food. I make a kind of stew with the meat and throw in some veggies. Sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, green beans, a handful of oats or brown rice and maybe some bacon grease. If I am short on veggies, I will use the frozen veggie mix. My dog loves it. I mix it in with dry food so that he gets the extra stuff he might need that the homemade stuff might lack.

On man, my dog would poop rainbows after eating that. Not so much the iron stomach. There are like 2 kinds of food she can eat without having digestive issues. She gets pretty much nothing else. No end of your hot dog, no leftovers, nothing.

Pooping rainbows sounds like a good thing.

Even my neighbor (who dog sits Cody) says that I need to make dog food for Cody when we go out of town. She says that Cody does not like the store bought stuff. He is spoiled.

How is you dog doing. Is she better now? AND... what was the final diagnosis??

FIVE was yesterdays final count.

Rump gifted me with an egg this morning. She is such a good hen.

She even stumbled around her little pen.

I have the day off... so, off I go to the North 40 for pine and cracked corn. Then I think that I will make something yummy for my Hubby for dinner. I am making Frittata for me so that I have lunch for the week.

I never made it out to run errands. My body hurts, so I am going to sit in a tub of hot water and soak for a bit. The girls got some straw to kick around. It was a great boredom buster. 3 eggs so far..............

My first attempt at frittata. I have made quiche before and love it. I figured that this is almost a crust less quiche. I had a boat load of eggs to use so..... this is an easy dozen gone! :drool

That looks delicious!

So...guess who forgot to plug the waterer back in the other day? This girl! The girls were VERY thirsty when I discovered it and corrected it.

I'm not doing so good on this chickening lately.

On the plus side, since the vaseline stained the combs and has come off now, their combs aren't near as bad as I thought. Just a couple of them have FB on the very tips. We're good.
